While agile, cats are quite fragile. A stout knock on the head and a couple of throat chops will kill even a catamount.
If you are planning to release them DO NOT use a catchpole. They will crush their own windpipe fighting it. Instead use a board with a hole in the end and put the caught paw on one side of the board, then release it. Do note that they will immediately run and get under your truck or into your engine compartment, so move your truck back aways before releasing, especially with bobcat.
