Is camping gear is the biggest waste of money imaginable. Any time I've met a legit old woodsman their gear is usually more from a hardware store than a camping store totalling no more than $200. Its not the lightest either, but it looks used to hell. The reality is most people will never be outdoors in rough enough conditions to justify high end equipment. Have you found your setup getting lower end the more experienced you get? I know mine has, and I feel dumb for wasting so much money.
