Just got this Hults Bruk Kalix (larger one), the smaller one is a cousins. First Swedish Ax I've owned. It's a sort of replacement for my old Snow&Neally Hudson Bay ax I've used for the last 10 years. A lot larger with a 2 1/4# head and 28" handle, not really a hiking ax, plan on using it around the camp with the chain saw. For $100 I'm happy, came very sharp, feels hard on the stones, and seems to hold an edge very well, has a great general use geometry.

Do any of you have Hults Bruks or other Swedish axs? Any experience with the higher finish HBs? Thinking about getting a Gransfors small Scandinavian Forester ax to hike with, but the price is hard to swallow.
