Instead of hiking the GF wants to go mountain biking this weekend so im planning on purchasing a bike before we go. Is picking up a $150~ schwinn from Wal Mart a bad idea? Should i look around craigslist for a nice stolen bike? Im assuming the bike store will fuck me raw with prices.

Im not trying to do anything crazy, just want to be able to do inclines with ease and downhills without the bike falling apart on me
