Our mountains are mountainlets and the tallest continental point even has a road to its top, where they sell some nice cheese and sausages. There's a couple decent trails but you're not allowed to camp outside of paid camping parks.
Now if you like to travel then it's worth the visit, very much so. Cheap as fuck compared to northern Euro, safe as shit, people are friendly and will go out of their way to help you even if they don't speak english (quite common among older people) the food is pretty diverse and delicious (heavy on seafood and meat) music festivals all throughout the country, the weather is good year round, distances are small so you get to cover a lot in a few days. The beach is nice, some really cool gems on Alentejo's coast.
