I don't know what these are and can't get more pictures, but I thought they looked like bananas.

It's in an area that used to be an old steel forge (1840s), hardwoods in the area.

I've been picking schrooms since childchood, but I was tought how by grandpas & dad.
If you can't tell a differce between Kania and Muchomor Sromotnikowy*....
One is super tasty if you fry it in batter (I fucking love them), the other is a guaranteed, agonising death unless you get a liver transplant by some miracle.

What the fuck is it with muschroom threads.

I found a decent amount of Boletus Edulis today, more than I can eat in a few days so Im gonna dy them.
Do any of you know if I should remove pores/tubes before eating/drying?
I will definitely remove them from the ones that have started to yellow, but what about the fresh white ones?

Nice sparassis!

I keep the pores when drying boletes only if they're completely white and unopened. In all other cases I remove before drying. The pores turn to slime when rehydrating unless they're very young.

A woman I know dries and powders the pores separate from the rest and uses the product to flavor things. I can't say I'm a fan of the texture, but he flavor is good and it's a great way to extend your harvest

Thanks for the advice, just finished drying the last batch. (Its a slow process w/o a dehydrator...)
I discarded around 2/3 of the total weight from all the pores and larvae eaten bits. So this is what I ended up with.

The cauliflower is from last year, Ive checked the spot I found it at a few times these last few weeks, but there's no growth yet. Hopefully it will start soon.
