funny thing is, there have been several sightings the last few years of mount lions and panthers in the area. I feel it is definitely a bobcat

So basically a new species existing is terrible damn news for fish and game because they instantly have to spend a metric fuck load of money they don't have the very moment the acknowledge it being part of the population. So any 180lb cat that you see in the wilderness instantly becomes a 45lb bobcat.

The (((Game Commission)) has been denying mountain lions for 12+ years.

Which is around when I saw a dead one on the northbound on ramp from PA 61 to US 81.

The tail should be the give away that it's a bobcat. A mountain lion tail is over 2 feet long, and wouldn't be hidden by a metal pole. A bobcats tail is pretty small. Bobcats in Pennsylvania are generally tan and less spotted, too. Bobcats can reach the size of a german shepherd, this would be an extremely large bobcat.

I was posting ITT about it being a mountain lion, but upon further review of the tail, I am no longer convinced. Very possibly a state record Bobcat.

Lol dumbass theres thousands out west and youll go your entire life without seeing one, a small population can easily exist without ever being seen especially in areas where hunters dont go(modern man cardio) also they do show up on game cams all the time, trapping is very uncommon in these areas these days and nothing short of a bear trap would even so much as bother a large cat they have extremely dense bones

Mountain lion tails are long as fuck, no tail in picture means it is definitively a bobcat, bobcat fur patterns vary wildly from region to region and the PA bobcat is tan with very few if any spots.
