For the record, SRT stands for Special Reaction Team, like the Army (or Marine) version of SWAT. As MP's, after a little while some of us get the option to go to SRT school. It's pretty tough but it's no Air Assault School (which isn't too hard either, just filled with bullshit to make sure you do everything right down to the details) and its definitely not SOF. But it requires incredible teamwork and reaction time, as you're running kill houses and being timed nonstop. The Marksmanship portion also is very strict, buddy of mine messed up once on something small and got booted. Theres no margin of error, you just hit the targets or you fail. After you pass, you're still training weekly to make sure you're up to snuff while you are still working the road (though larger installations I've heard you're responding to calls every day anyway, not just necessarily Active Shooter situations).
I don't know if Canterbury ever even went,
>>1351767's post casts doubt on that. Either way, doesn't really help you much camping or in a survival situation unless you're also clearing buildings or something.
I found his videos pretty helpful when I first started going /out/. His apology seemed sincere, but it's not like he's really suffering these days. Take his word for what it is, suggestions and ideas. He has a few good ones.
