Considering they use pop up bivy bags and not tents, I wouldn’t get one unless I was trying to be ultra low profile.

Good for low profile camping, Just use a normal one unless you really want to camp on private property.

Backpacking? Fuck no. Get a bivy bag (Outdoor Research makes good ones), or a backpacking tent. MILITARY tents are designed for the MILITARY, BACKPACKING tents are designed for BACKPACKING, it's in the fucking word.
