>>1361172dead thread but i'll bite, you seem pretty chill about it
>trout streamsNo we don't have much of the trout streams you like, and while fly fishing is fun, our fishing is mainly sport/offshore, BUT we have thousands upon thousands of marshes and swamps for premier sport fishing, and even more for offshore in the gulf, but yeah if fly fishing is your thing, down here is not the place to be
>offshoreMainly the laws(iffy right now), limits, and seasons, while it's not better than florida, it's the next best thing. I don't offshore myself, but I worked at a mom and pop fishing store and dudes would drop 1-5k weekly on offshore, and we'd get people from all over the South, even people from Idaho, i'm pretty sure it's pretty undisputed that gulf fishing is great, and Louisiana fishing is just as good as florida, florida beating us due to sheer land size
>turkey, deer, birds, pheasants Yes it is not the best in the US, never claimed it to be, but the value in Louisiana is the ability to kill deers, turkeys, birds, pheasants, ducks, and most other huntable animals with just one camp location, not to mention also being able to fish your ass off
>turtles, oysters, crawfishing/crabbingyeah not a sport, still damn good fun, and the ability to catch your own seafood fresh and then go cook it immediately is always fucking sweet
>alligatorsThis one is iffy, down here it IS considered a sport, and there's hunting alligators, and there is trapping alligators, and technically it is a sport, since size and heads are usually kept as trophys and the meat scattered among people
>frogsGigging is kinda taboo some places here, we use our hands 90% of the time, kids and older guys usually gig them, but yeah, if you haven't slammed your mud boat into 1 inch of water while snatching a fat ass bull frog with your hands, apologize for having an opinion on it, gigging takes all the fun out of it
