>>1354031all of these stories are second hand from my pa, but he's not the kind to be superstitious about things normally.
i was born in Aberystwyth hospital, lovely town, amazing rural area. back then, all of the mountains were covered by trees. my parents' house was located on a massive plot, twenty miles from the nearest person. (this is in wales, which is tiny. that's a long way to traverse in the valleys.)
a few days after my birth, my pa woke up in the middle of the night, which was common for him (he had a deviated septum which was only recently fixed). at the foot of their bed, sitting on the wooden box on the edge of the room, was a man in full traditional woodcutter garb, cradling an axe in his arms.
according to my pa, he had this overwhelming sense of calm and safety. the apparition, ghost, whatever you want to call it, nodded and my pa went back to sleep.
i have more if you want to hear them, apologise for the crappy grammar.
