-fuel needs to be local or the costs of getting/supplying it will probable outway local power distribution.
Solar's fuel is the sun, only available when the sun is up and facing the panels(can be fixed by manual/automatically turning the panels) No travel for fuel required
Windmill's fuel is the wind, windy states and regions are ideal, most wind occurs at morning,evenings,night(coastal area's have nice nighttime winds). Works best at greater heights not blocked by tree's, buildings, turbulence.
Water is movement of.... and so on
Get a good power management system, have a 12 volt/24 volt device like a compressor connected to the light bulb section to keep the unit from dropping voltage to prevent overcharging your batteries. Also invest in high-capacity capacitor banks, these take less to recharge, can cycle more easily.
