I tried sleeping in uniform several times, boots and all, in cold ass weather. Didn't believe the skivvy thing, plus who wants to run outside a tent in underwear with your weapon when it's cold as fuck? The uniform seemed to funnel out all the heat near my neck instead of filling the bag, and I would wake up cold.
Now I sleep in skivvies with clothes at bottom in bag with pad/cot underneath the bag at all times. It's the only way.
