>>1365499If you are new then there is some stuffs I can recommend for fresh water
If you want something cheap first, I would recommend something like bass assassin shiner/ boss shiner, big hammer 3-5 inches
If you want something more expensive, you can go for the keitech. However, keitech is a lot more squishy and easy to tear but you get scent and good action out of them. Zman is another option but I would not recommend to beginner or any elaztechz stuffs because special care in storage required
For standard jig head, I would recommend the doa. I found them to have the best hook keeper, good hook and not too pricey. Heavier weight of them can be hard to find though. Use the short shank doa for sub 3.5 inches swimbait and long shank doa for 4 inches and longer. Another cheaper option is the vmc boxer jig. Their hook keeper is not as good as doa but it doesn’t matter if you super glue the body and head. I recommend 1/8- 1/2 oz for weight from shore as you unlikely to go deeper than 10ft. Also, get some 4/0-5/0 weighted swimbait hook and it’s a really solid way to rig your swimbait weedless as well. Owner darter is also not bad for a slim profile swimbait if you want to minimalize snags on hard structure. That should cover the basic. Stuffs like chatter bait, swim jig, a rig, etc can be added later. The jig head also work for other types of body like grubs and jerkbait
You can find these at any online store like tacklewarehouse, bass pro, cabelas, academy etc.
