Any opinions on military sleeping bags?
My last experiences with them are like 15 years ago, and they where always smelly, bulky and heavy as hell, but if you look at
>https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/carinthia-defence-1-sleeping-bag/24347That looks quite decent.
1050g and 3° comfort rating and
>Shellproof outer shell - a lightweight, hard wearing, ripstop reinforced and PU coated polyamide which is both wind and waterproof (1000 mm) and yet breathable.and its not down, so a bit of wetness wont matter anyways, all at the low price of 130€!?
Sign me the fuck up! (it still seems bulky though).
And the 4 model with -15 at less than 2kg also seems quite nice.
But are they really that good?
I get why they are relatively cheap, compared to /out/ bags, since they simply have much, much higher numbers, and Carinthia is a respectable manufacturer, but the warmth to weight ration seems quite optimistic, especially considering the top-zipper, which seems like it's just asking for loosing heat.
So whats the deal with that?
