>>1367826Nice, I've got the Swedish Army wool pants and they're amazing, sweatpants for people north of the arctic circle. And for shorter (< 3 day) trips when it's above -20C
>>1366445What kind of tent are you going to have it in?
Friend just made his own .50 Can stove but it's fairly heavy and something lighter/flatter like this would be nice.

Longest trip I've done was 9 days in a tent with coldest temp at night around -30C
Almost always alone, makes the tent even roomier, even if not as warm from less body heat. Still worth it for the sense of extreme solitude.
Looking for two things this coming winter:
Relatively lightweight ~80L pack that's wearable with up to 35kg loads for extended ski and snow shoe trips where bringing my pulka isn't viable or a wise option. Was looking at the HMG 5400 but a white pack in the winter seems like a bad idea and reviews don't seem too great about +30kg loads.
Thick down jacket, have gotten through the previous two winters by layering to hilarious levels (6-8 layers while static) and being very cold tolerant compared to most people. But that takes a lot of time to put on and take off; is hard to do in gale winds plus being a pain overall, I'd like to reduce to 4 at the max.
Merino base long sleeve with zip turtle neck
Slightly thicker merino or wool sweater no hood or neck
North Face Sherpa fleece
Huge down jacket
Anyone got suggestions for either of those?
