>>1368534If you put something in the bottom to protect the aluminum from the hot coals, it will last far longer. Otherwise, it will eventually burn through. Something as simple as a few fistfuls of soil or sand can work or you can use another piece of sacrificial metal. I use flatten tin cans for such stuff. I replace it every so often and it is free. I also try to use stainless steel fasteners so that when something wears out I can reuse them for other projects, so the extra cost is offset over time. Lately though, I've only needed rivets for most things.
I made this rocket stove. After a couple of years, of heavy use, it is ready to be retired and Version 3 built.
