Wood Stove Tent General

No.1375333 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I'm looking to make the move from dorms/employee housing to living in a tent full time, out of my car during the off season and not moving during the months I work.
I do lots of backpacking and ski touring but staying in a UL 2 person tent or a 4 season tunnel tent gets old after 2 weeks of not being able to sit up with out my head touching the inner tent.

I live in Sweden and do seasonal work in the far, far north around 6-8 months a year, it can get brutally cold in the winter in the realm of -30C at night (not even I sleep out when it's -40C), a few meters of snow over the course of a winter, heavy winds and the midnight sun during the summer can make for some unpleasantly warm periods that don't cool off much at night.

I'm looking for suggestions on a 4-5m bell tent with a Zipped ground cloth, wood stove compatible (I may build my own wood stove instead of buying) that can take an inner tent, built in mosquito netting isn't a must, I can add that myself.

Does anyone have experience with adding insulation to a tent? I was thinking something along the lines of sewing an inner tent out of wool blankets and having a section around 180cm off the ground to lower the ceiling combined with a backing of Reflectix or some similar material, would make heating the tent more efficient than all the warmth going to the top of the tent and out the top. I know it will be cold and go through a lot of wood but I'm

Preliminary googling has given me an inkling of what I'm after:

Robens Klondike Grande (Have heard about seam leakage and other QC issues)

Dusky Deer 5m

CWS 4.5m Ultimate (Has the stove on the side, I would prefer to be central)

>tldr OP fell for the Teepee meme

In the mean time I'll post comfy woodstove tent pics
