Local mythos. The moors around here are dotted with prehistoric burial chambers and stone circles, some reputed to have supernatural powers. One of the best known is Hob Hurst’s House, named after a hobgoblin who is said to haunt the nearby woods. The exact nature of the Hob Hurst creature varies from story to story, but a common one is that Derbyshire farmers used to put a bowl of cream out to appease Hob, who would then help with odd jobs around the farm. If you didn't please him though, he would make mischief.

Ive been out hunting moose in the forest listening to creepy pastas and pods about spooky folk lore.
Funny thing is after i drank from a local "magical spring" i shot my first moose ever.
I don't believe in that kind of stuff but the moose encounter almost felt set up and i still find this kind of coincidence amusing.
