I just moved to Denver, guys. What the fuck do I do now? I was expecting a trendy little city nestled in the mountains, not this sprawling urban slough on the edge of a featureless prairie, with Arby's and Target as far as the eye can see. I drove around Golden last week and all that mesa stuff looks super boring. Then I went to Boulder to hike around the Flatirons, and the trails were literally gridlocked with foot traffic.
Without making a huge road trip out of it, where can I get away into the woods?
Also, I'm from the east coast so I don't know how federal land works. I want to disappear into the national forest with my shotgun for a week, but google shows conflicting information re: what's allowed.
Also anyone want to meet up?
