As title suggests.

This thread doesn't really belong on /pol/ so am remaking it on /out/.

/pol/acks (and others!) who want to be living off grid when THE HAPPENING occurs. Please share information resources, guides, ideas What essentials do you need? Where would you go? Some /pol/acks were talking about the Blue Mountains in Australia as well as Tasmania. What other regions are tempting?

If I were to start a homestead, how would I get food? farming, trapping or hunting. Thinking about going to rural Victoria or South Australia.

Western Plains has amazing topsoil due to recent geological activity (10,000 years ago) as compared with the rest of australia. You'd easily be able to get some cheap land somwhere, set up ya homestead, grow a lot yourself and travel to farmers markets and other stuff to get whatever else you need.

Western Plains (south west vic) has amazing topsoil due to recent geological activity (10,000 years ago) as compared with the rest of australia. You'd easily be able to get some cheap land somwhere, set up ya homestead and be almost 100% self sufficent food wise. lots of rabbits too to catch.

Only bad thing about that area is because it was so good for agriculture, theres not much native land left if you enjoy getting /out/.
