Next April I'm climbing Mt. Adams NH. I am expecting full winter conditions because the Whites maintain snow into early June. With 4200' of elevation gain, and with snow varying from hard ice, to powder snow, should I just use snowshoes? They have the spikes in them to help with traction. With winds easily exceeding 100 mph should I invest in an ice axe and crampons?
