So a friend and I are going to go and essentially camp in a run down building around Christmas time in northern Florida. Any tips on what to bring/what not to bring or just general wisdom would be appreciated

cement is better at sucking out your heat than normal ground
make sure your sleep mat has good insulation
and make sure to test the floorboards before you walk on anything not made of concrete

so you are squatting in abandon buildings
bring spoon, lighter and rig, also don't forget the smack. don't worry about bedding, I'm sure you can find an old mattress in the alley

If your going to the abandoned hotel that's an exit or two north of Gainesville I'd advise against an overnight trip, the place is cool to see but it gets a lot of traffic, that goes for basically all but the most dangerous abandoned Urban properties. Try and find something isolated in Suwanee, Dixie, Citrus, Hamilton. Stay away from Duval lol

Vicksburg and Bay Harbor seems like they would be alright, someone earlier in the thread mentioned have a fear mentality not kill or be killed I agree with that. Try to hike out to where you wanna camp so you can duck cops without them camping your vehicle. Also have an exit plan, if it's only a one night thing consider sleeping during the day and pulling an all nighter. Alcohol would be fun there are definitely places that will sell to you in NF just stride in w/ confidence. Cramton is a no go because it's air Force land afaik

i camped out doing the stalker challenge a couple of times in an abandoned chemical factory 10 miles outside my town where fucking nobody should ever be in february

saw two homeless fucks who ran as soon as i made noise, a group of beaners who came to get drunk in one of the other buildings and a pack of fucking coyotes that got way too close for comfort
