An affordable alternative I thought of is to purchase a pocket shower or one of those pressure showers where you fill a bag with water. Instead of placing it in the sun to heat the water, which is only viable during summer many places (seems like a lot of posters are unfamiliar with winter), you can place it next to a fireplace/fire/stove, or another source of heat.

Not everyone here is a backpacker who need light gear. I have the room and would like a nice hot shower now and again. The bowl thing and the filling a shower back with water from the kettle for a thirty second shower gets pretty old sometimes. Does it work? sure.
I borrowed one of these a few years back on the beach in mexico from some other van campers and it was glorious. Its just that now there are so many brands its hard to decide.
I figured there were a few people here who owned this sort of contraption but I guess I was mistaken.

I use a thing I found on amazon called a simple shower. Screws onto the top of any empty 2ltr bottle. It's cheap, and you still have to heat the water separate if you want a hot shower. But it's good for a rinse.
