my gf and I are going (car) camping for a few days at a national park in January (middle of summer here in Australia)
we're both new at it and we're probably the kind of people you guys hate to encounter while camping. I had some questions so I can be less of an ignorant cunt about the subject. I'm sorry if any of these questions are retarded
- I have a two-person backpacking tent, but my gf wants to sleep in the SUV. which should we do? my argument is we might want to walk in to a nicer spot on foot if we find one, and the car will be full of all our supplies etc, leaving little room for sleeping.
- should I buy a big steel crockpot for cooking ham 'n' beans, oats etc. on a fire? what are the odds there'll be a fire ban?
- I was gonna buy a titanium coffee press for the mornings, is that a good idea or a waste of money?
- is it safe to go on a day trip and leave the tent set up?
- any other general tips you can think of for our situation?
I think that's it for now. thanks for any help!
