>>1389011>Is pic related true?Yeah, assuming that you have good soil, enough water and sun, have fruit trees that are 15-30 years old (older and they'll die off soon, yonger and the harvest won't be enough), do not care for animal protection laws (or have none), buy animal feed, buy fertilizer, buy drinking water, buy clothes etc.
I have roughly 2 acres of land, half of which are good garden land. All in thee warmest part of germany and with enough water from creeks and wells. They provide enough honey, fruit, vegetables and potatoes for the family (five adults) and could probably provide eggs and meat as well if I built a chicken coop. There's also some honey left to sell, bringing in ~1.5k€ a year.
For keeping goats and pigs however, there isn't nearly enough space, and for growing wheat, rye or barley, the land that doesn't have trees on it isn't good enough.
And of course, there's not enough space to grow firewood, linen or hemp (cotton is impossible because of the climate), so clothing and heating need to be bought as well.
tl;dr: in perfect conditions, you can get enough food from two acres. for non-ideal conditions or completely living of it, you'll need more.
