>>1389280So you're the kind of dick who has to hike for miles to GET to /out/, huh? Dude, /out/ is in my fucking backyard. If I hike 100 yards from my back door, I'm still farther from "civilization" than your ten mile trek into the wilderness. But nevermind, I also recognize that if my off-grid situation deteriorates for some reason into survival mode, I'm not packing up camp and moving around every other day, because I'm not a hiker, I'm a survivalist. If I have to hike, I'll do so and make shit work with minimal weight. If I'm surviving in one location (the true ideal), I'm going to build a shelter, acquire good access to water and use the cooking supplies I have, which damn sure will include a good dutch oven. But then, I'm also /k/, so I'm not exactly running from every chicken fart I hear, either. I'm planting a flag, and to the degree I need to be mobile, I'll make it happen.
Take your Sawyer filter, ultralight tent, and mylar blanket and live as long as you can. I'll do the same without swapping a new spot 20 miles away every night unless I have to.
