What does /out/ do to keep warm while fishing for trout and steelhead in the winter months? Preferably with a fly rod.

wool union suit and neoprene long johns, a pair of hiking socks, and a pair of big wool socks under my waders. they also make neoprene waders that are (probably) comfy as fuck but I can only afford one set.

with my setup, I'm pretty much always perfectly comfortable. Just warm enough, maybe a little cool but honestly I prefer that.

The only thing that ever gets cold when Im steelheading is my hands. Any glove recommendations that dont make it impossible to swing a fly?

Wear trash bags like giant socks under ur waders. Any water that springs in wont get you wet, plus it makes getting waders on + off a lot easier because the plastic just slides into the waders.

Bring a hand towel to dry your hands

I usually get some cheap wool glove liners and cut the fingers off. Not the warmest, but they help.
