After all the fucking mountains above and no problems with any animals including multiple bear encounters, I got stalked and shouted at by a mountain lion on Mt Diablo (only 'mountain' outside of the sierras that's close) twice in the first year of being here on night hikes. Also Diablo is about 3899', even after 6 summits in 2 weeks leading up to Whitney I got karate kicked in the mouth by altitude sickness REALLY bad when normally I sail all the way up to Trail Camp, power through the 99 switchbacks, then summit fever my way to the summit. I have a 100 lb. pack I've started training with, but it sucks being here because the 'mtns' are shit and theres no real forest.
