I've got a Roam (original, not the newer 2), upgrade from the old ContourHD.
It's a decent camera, better all around than my old one. Waterproof to 1m is nice, as I do ride in the rain and have it on my helmet when i'm snowmobiling. Never had a problem with my old one and water ingress, but it's nice to know it'll survive.
I don't care for the body style of the Gopros, too big and blocky hanging off a helmet, just waiting to catch a branch and get ripped off and bounce down the trail or get lost in teh snow.
I don't do a whole lot with it, record my commutes and some offroad riding. The photo mode (5mp still every 1, 3, 5, 10 seconds.... couple of timing options) is nice, cool to do timelapses with. My ContourHD didn't do that.
Both video and audio quality are decent, but not great. It's good enough in most lighting conditions, generally the more light the better. Audio's understandable, but add any wind or engine noise and you're better off not using the audio. Not sure how well it'd work just wandering around.
The differences between the Roam and Roam2 weren't really worth the difference in cost to me, so I went with the Roam. Been happy with it overall.
Frame from the highest quality video setting. I was moving ~30m/h at the time that frame was grabbed.
