>>1412279Disregard the larpers. If you're actually going above tree line and have to carry your shit for any longer duration I'd say:
Modern tunnel shaped tent for optimum wind-stability in a decent size (2 persons if you're alone, 2-3 persons if your two etc.) You'll spend more time in your tent compared to summer and you'll also have a larger volume of clothing and sleeping gear so some space is nice.
The tent should have an apsis for storing the gear that doesnt enter the sleeping compartment (if you're 3-4 persons and therefore in a larger tent that would preferably be an extra, back-apsis behind the sleeping compartment for storing backpacks).
The cooking is done in the the main apsis. A nice thing to to is to dig a trench in the front apsis. This acts as a trap for cold air inside the tent, but also fucktions as a kitchen and working space, allowing 1-2 people to stand upright in the apsis, as well as making it possible to sit on sleeping mats on the edge of the trench, where the sleeping compartment begins.
