Can /out/ offer some advice on hunting coyotes? Ranchers around my area are offering to pay to have them hunted and I could really use the money. I've gone deer hunting in the past, but in flatlands like ours that's mostly driving around in your pickup until you see one standing out in a field, will that approach work even remotely well on coyotes? I've been reading that a lot of people set up stands for them but the farmer I talked to said he doesn't want anybody setting shit up on his land.

Also, this might be more of a /k/ question, but I have a .308, an AR-15, and M1 Carbine. The sights on the AR are screwed up, but the others are fine. Is the .308 for long range and Carbine for closer in a good loadout, or would it be better to spend the money to fix the AR?
