>>1423810>>>not picking up some sticks and leaves to cook withwhat about wet/ snowy environments, what about places that see frequent visitors and don't have much to burn? or places that might not ever have much of anything to burn? also, if you carry a firebox i could argue that you could instead carry a stove for the weight.
>>>not knowing how to get by without cookingwith human's ever increasing specialization into brainpower and tools, kitchens have become our external stomachs in way, the stove and fridge it's centerpiece. with how tiny and effective we can make a stove-top, it seems kinda like an easy choice of tools to bring with us for extended periods away from a full on kitchen.
also, they have more potential uses than for typical camping or even for food. you could keep a stew or hot chocolate simmering during an outdoor event with your friends, family or coworkers. you could melt snow for water where that's all you have.
>>>carrying a bunch of retarded expensive geara folded up stove can probably fit in a small pot and since they sip fuel, you needn't bring a big fuel bottle, just big enough to keep the pump inside it.
$80-$150 for something that will last you many years is too expensive to you? good, folding firebox's don't seem all that much cheaper from what i can see.
