lets talk beard and hair
this is not some thinly veiled /fa/ thread, but lets be real, it is a big deal

ever had ticks in you hair? can they even do that?
do you carry any hair products?
what about beard? do you have a beard? if so why?

are there any hairstylre/beard syles that have advantages or disadvantages for /out/?

maybe like, shorter head hair to interfere with a hat less?

I've never had ticks in my scalp, or in my medium-length beard, ever. I've had them crawling all over my legs and heading for my armpits and crotch and back, but for some reason they've never been a problem above the neck.

i have a beard cuz i have a weird shaped head and my facial hair grows too fast. i don't have to shave every other morning. i got professional beard clippers from a barber supply store and just knock it down to a 2 or 3 level every few weeks or so over my shower. i have a kyle broflovski hair type so i have to get it thinned out when i go to the barber... trying to put anything in it is a waste of time. my beard and hair just kind of does what it wants.

nigga you ain't seen shit. I was having to shave 4 times a day in basic training and even now I get my 5 o'clock shadow at 9am and by 5pm it looks like 3-day stubble.

Never had a problem with finding anything in it. I guess the risks increase with the length..?

Yes.

do you carry any hair products?
I had my hair cut specifically so that I don't have to worry about products/styling. Spent too much of my early-20s doing that. Similarly, it's short enough that a few days away from a shower doesn't leave me looking like I fell headfirst into a chip-pan.

Used to have full beard. Currently at long stubble but growing it back.

Long hair getting in front of your face is irksome, but I guess as long as you tie it up it won't be so bad (as long as you don't mind it getting greasy after a few days away from your shampoo). Beards do make your face noticeably warmer but the itchy phase when it first starts to grow out could make you want to remove the entirety of your cheeks with you axe so bear that in mind.

What's your hair made of? Anything short of an afro will behave itself when faced with a hat.

tl;dr: Never had ticks. Don't carry products. Have a beard because I want one. Long hair is troublesome. Developing a beard is itchy. If your hair is made of hair then don't worry about it.

Yes and yes.

No, products are for women.

Yes, full beard. trim to a #4 on the wahl clippers. I got tired of shaving every day.

Yes. Full beard has an advantage. No need to take shaving kit. Keeps your face warm in the winter. Trim before you go /out. You will look great for about a month. Any other style you may look homeless toward the end of your trip. Also, when the beard comes in it will itch, at night, for a week, until you get used to it. If you already have the full beard, you have already gotten through those uncomfortable nights.

Shorter hair helps with finding ticks too....
