The biggest thing preventing me from going full vagabond for months at a time is the anxiety I get from how I'll be judged by peers when I return home.

The simple fact is that the only people who will admire you for your travels are those who crave it themselves. I’ve traveled most of my life from age 15 to now I’m 31. My life at first glance hasn’t been that remarkable. But when I start a conversation on where I’ve been and what I’ve done it’s when people really start to realize there’s more to my story. I’m married with a kid now, but I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything. If anything, I wish I would have done more. Maybe stopped a little longer in a few places and not been in such a hurry to get to my next location. But, it was how I felt I needed to do it. Those who don’t appreciate it will lack depth. But most people lack that anyway.

I just watched this guys videos, I traveled round the states for a few years, none of those people back home mattered to me, none of them are in my life now. I don't know what your situation is like but depending on what you seek you will find it, I can only badly explain how it works but there's some thing to living a life with fate thrown to the wind, I for one liked the aspect of sneaking around train yards and avoiding security, traveling for free. I spent my free time reading books about things I cared about, learned music and a few other things along the way.

In the end no one can really give you an insight into some thing you have to experience to understand. If your going to do it, do it and do it right. garner the gear you need, it's not much. When you're traveling, vagabonding you can be who ever you choose to be, want to be a crusty piece of shit scum fuck, go for it, want to be a blacked out stealth traveler and go solo, go for it. It's up to you. You don't need much, a pack and some thing to sleep in, a tarp or bivvy will do you well. I played music, flew signs, would spare buck people, people would stop to give me money just because they saw me walking, this is in america though and I set my self apart from the rest and stayed pretty sharp with regular hair cuts and blacked out gear. It was obvious I was on the long haul with my gear but people supported the way I did it so it worked out in the end.

I lived out of my truck for over a year. Had a nice little bed topper that I built shelves and a bed in. Also had the doggo to warn me of any dangers and to keep me company. I would say just go for it OP. You might want to plan out areas where you will be able to go as in free camping. If your just going on foot, then I wish you the best of luck.
