Best camping is in the Ozarks, hands down. Places like North Sylamore Creek around Mountain View, Lake Ouchita, etc.
I would recommend camping around Jasper, right on top of the Buffalo. Most site fees have been waived due to the seasonal shut off of electricity and water. I’d suggest Steel Creek.
If you’re looking for mountains, Magazine is our tallest and prettiest mountain, but Pinnacle right outside of Little Rock is definitely an option — however, I wouldn’t go to pinnacle until spring, as the overlook from the peak wouldn’t be of much worth with all the trees barren.
Regarding Hot Springs, don’t bother unless you’re attracted to the city, as well, and wish for it to always be in the background no matter if you’re on Indian Mt. or Hot Slrings Mt.. Sorry bud. Let me know if you need anymore help/advice.
