What's your opinion on folk-festivals?
Imo most of the ones I've been to were full of three types of people:
Old guys playing fiddles and bagpipes because they like it, but once you talk to them half of them are really bland.
Two: fantasy-fags that include all kinds of larping, from wearing lotr related shit, to wearing 'traditional-wear', to ugly ass tshirts with dragons. These guys are often super obsessed with it.
Third: younger people who authentically enjoy playing a folk instrument and who genuienly play it well and play it to have a good time. Not to restore some age-old idenity, or because it's just like in their vidya's, but because it's a good time.
I have a couple friends like that and hanging out with them is usually a pretty neat time, just instruments, a campfire and beer somewhere in a field is all I need for a good night.
Sorry for the rant, but I think it suits the thread.
