if you wet the black powder with high proof alcohol it will make a good flame for a sec or two.

But the only way to light powder and not kill yourself is to use a match

Yeah, just be careful with it. Outside of an enclosed space it burns much less explosively, as long as you don't use a lot. Find some dry tinder if you can and build it from there, it should help. Stay safe and warm, friend.

Make sure to close the main container and keep it far away from the fire site. Also the stuff will flare up fast so be wary. Otherwise you're good
