Heeled shoes are only a few hundred years old and one of those strange fashion ideals that bleeds into practical outdoors wear, with the crossover of military use that requires things like ankle support, ladder-climbing ability and super thick soles, alongside the “smart” appearance aspect of a uniform (collars, pleated clothing, heels, regulation haircuts, etc)
