>>1438744>>making fires is illegalTrue, doing it in summer would be very stupid but as of now you can do it because you will not find anyone in /out/ areas
>>virtually no public landExcept all the Gerês national park, Estrela natural park, Montesinho natural park, Douro Internacional natural park, Costa Vicentina, and all the mountainlet regions. Finding quality, native forest areas I do concede to be difficult besides Gerês.
>>civilisation everywhereTrue, the highest mainland mountain has a road to the top, it says everything you need to know. Though I have to say that in rural areas the civilization you see are wind farms, old abandoned houses and small villages with old people and livestock. But it's indeed present everywhere.
>>extremely expensive quality materialNot only that but good luck to find it. There's few /out/ specialized stores, of the big brands I only know TNF in Lisbon, then it's only small retailers with limited offer. It could be very different if Decathlon wasn't so focused in pushing their products and was more Rei like.
>>camping and backpacking is considered vagabonding and creepy by most peopleThis is simply not true. Camping is seen as a budget friendly way to spend you holidays, people who don't have or don't want to spend lots of cash on a hotel have it as a preference instead. That's it, it has not much to do with nature since most parks are in the coast due to /out/ around here being mostly ocean bound.
Backpacking has such small significance that it doesn't have any kind of connotation to it. Also with a few exceptions, trails are short and shitty, despite the efforts of councils trying to be make them more common.
>Can someone tell me actual GOOD places to go camping/bushcrafting/hiking, specially if i want to go full LARP mode?Where are you at? Also the answer is in the beginning of my post, Gerês, Montesinho and Estrela.
