Puerto Rico has some excellent, local, non-touristy shit if you know where to find it. Pic related is Guanica state forest, a dryer version of Guajataca.
Once more, the state forests are supreme. Also, El Yunque rainforest is 90% closed and there is massive hurricane damage. Perhaps if you bypass the “trail closed” signs you could see some cool shit. Bring or buy a machete tho.
