On its own, I wouldn't consider it morally ambiguous, legal or not that's about as fair a fight as any bear has seen, with some caveats;
Black bears won't fight. Even if you wanted to do this you would basically set up in a stand or blind, wait for one to come close and jump it. It will not be a battle Royale, it will be a bear trying to escape/ survive while you chase it unless cornered OR unless it has cubs to defend, again fair fight as any but you would be putting cubs at risk by choosing a fighting female, if you kill her those cubs starve to death which is why it's illegal and morally reprehensible to kill mama bears.
Chances are you don't have the woodcraft to get that close to a bear anyways, so no worries chief
