First season was alright, I couldn't get through the second or third because it felt too much like self-insert LARPers who watched a few too many youtube tutorials rather than people who actually go /out/.
Yuru camp on the other hand was actually made by people who go /out/, and it shows in the subtle details

Golden kamuy is pretty /out/ if you want to larp like it's 1910. Soldier and native girl surviving in the woods for months while hunting down convicts. A lot of cooking in it.

Yeah, it's made by a bunch of larpers and is 70% bullshit, 10% advertising, and 20% boring. If you want an actual /out/ piece of Japanese media then read something like Kokou no Hito, it's about climbing. All the niche stuff stays in manga format for a long time.

If you classify /out/ as modern day hobbies surrounding the outdoors, then only Yuru Camp and Yama no Susume come to mind. If you let me be more loose and focus on feeling rather than specific themes, then some more anime come to mind. Sorry for the excessive spacing.

Feeling of urban exploration: Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou comes to mind, and Copellion for a more Stalker-like theme.

Feeling of living in rural environment: there are dozens, but some that I enjoyed are: Hakumei to Mikochi, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Kuma Miko, Non Non Biyori.

Not relevant, but for some reason came to mind: Sketchbook, Mushishi, Binchou-tan.

There's 1 ova, and another set to come out in like March I think. Problem is there isn't enough content in the manga right now to do another season so it's probably going to be awhile.

I haven't read it yet but I heard the anime skips a lot of stuff from the manga because they wanted season 2 to end where it did. So if you're hungry for more than that's a good way to go.

I would recommend similar stuff but it really is one of a kind. Kino's Journey is kinda similar in that it's about traveling and has a 1890's-1900's aesthetic, but that's in a fantasy world and not as violent.
