Any desert (Death Valley, Joshua Tree, etc) is great in the winter. Any coastal NF/NP is great too as long as the weather forecast isn't terrible.

Better be safe man I have lived in Tahoe region all my life and they say it's suppose to storm really bad starting tonight. I recommend Tahoe region and a fair bit Into northern Nevada. You'll be surprised with the amount of out possibilities there truly are around these parts.
