Conformation is generally a good guide, but it’s not completely indicative of the type of muscle fibers a horse has. If a longer stride was all that was needed for a faster horse, all the barrel racers would be riding Percherons. Thanks for the tip about the Akhal-Teke, though. Some things just seem too good to be true.
