As a result I always keep my bayonet on hand when out and about, and usually either my trench club or shovel as well. Im also working on some forearm armour (for my STALKER suit, but also good for this) made out of kevlar pads.
If a niggerdog attacks then I will try to get to somewhere it cant/will have difficulty reaching if I have the opportunity, otherwise I try to kill it before it gets me. Also got my bow and sling sometimes as well.
