hello /out/
i'm fortunate enough to live in a city that's right next to a mountain so after a four hour hike starting from my front door, i'm practically deep innawoods
during the summer i often go for day and a half long camping trips but it does require climbing some steep slopes to get to my camping spot so i can't have my backpack being too heavy. problem is that i get dehydrated a lot because of the climbing and the chopping and sawing i need to do and i feel like i don't get enough water, but i'm already carrying two 1.5 litre bottles and i don't want to add more weight.
now i know that when sweating you don't just lose water, you also lose salts and minerals and such. so i was wondering if replacing my water with those meme electrolyte drinks won't get me more bang for my buck so to speak. as in, if i carry 3l of sports drink, will i feel less dehydrated than if i carry 3l of water? or maybe a combination of the two?
