>>1458682>waterI carried 3-5L at a time. Mostly bought it from small village shops as I went as there wasn't a lot of ground water. Any ground water I used I treated with aquamira.
>foodmostly ate cold soaked noodles, nuts, crisps/chips, biscuits/cookies, cake, hummus, and bread
>sleptmostly cowboy camped, but stayed in 3 hostels, one at the start, one in the middle, and one at the end. The middle hostel was stayed in as it was by Petra and I wanted to get up early to be the first person through the site. I also needed to recharge my phone and battery pack.
>snake and scorpionsnone in the winter, could be an issue during the warmer months
>plan the route The is a Jordan Trail Association. They have a gps route and basic maps. The gps file is vital as there are no good maps for this area making compass and paper navigation not an option.
>how did you estimate that such place was fine to off trail and cross country ?not totally sure I understand the question, but I didn't make up the route so just followed the gps files. I assumed that it was ok to travel over the areas they suggested.
>bag weightwithout food and water my kit weighs like 6lbs/2.7kg
>warm clothesThe nights regularly got down to 30f/0c and the morning were very cold, especially when the wind was strong. A couple of days it was ~30mph. My setup is comfy down to like 23f/-5c so I do carry warm clothes. It's a 3 season pack, not a summer bag. I could go much lighter with a pure summer set up.
