>>1459842Because while I hope Benchmade go on to last a long time into the future, and succeed as a knifemaker, in the short term they need a short sharp lesson that the people you are supposed to look after are the people that buy your product, and that they need to be smart enough to know that having the police publicize their involvement in destroying firearms is going to polarize people, and that firearms are demonized as it is, and that there is a continuing effort by those on the left to depict firearms and firearms owners as societally deficient, and that their customer base crosses over to firearms owners in a big way.
So whether or not it was a big deal, whether or not those guns had been used in the commission of crimes, whether or not they just wanted to help the cops out, they need an abject lesson that in the current climate, that shit is not something to be virtue signalled, because limp-wristed blue-haired faggots are not the ones laying dollar bills on the counter for knives, and Benchmade learning a hard lesson now might save them, or other knife makers, from learning a harder one in the future.
