i am working slowly toward near total hermitage

i don't want to live off the grid but i do want a large private property. something big enough i can build away from the road, behind thick bush and trees, and still have room for a sunny garden, orchard, greenhouse, etc.

i can live in a tiny, understated shed-like house, but i need the land. thankfully land is cheaper than construction around here so i'm half way there.

Id rather find my peace outside the repetition. Working to buy a slice if the american dream. It sounds awesome, but i believe the idea is skewered, i believe working to build ones dream is truly american. I can only dream if the satisfaction to tend to your own plot of land away from the greatwr population, living and actually feeling. I only come to /out/ wishing i could experience what those real /out/ist experience. I once dipped my toes in the outdoors once, my mom married a ranch hand, he would promise to take me hunting, he would say he would pick me up in an hour, i would sit by the driveway for hours, i would hold my pee for fear of being left behind, i would get excited seeing the ranch trucks pass tje house. Nonetheless, i sat there in vain. I could only hide my pain, as i would watch him skin and gut tje deer on the front porch. I needed to share that. Sorry

It wouldn’t be total anprim. There would be some early agriculture aspects to the camp to assure some reliance of crops. I think recreating how horses may have been domesticated would also be cool.
